New Zealand

-
Photinia is an evergreen plant belonging to the rose family (Rosaceae), introduced to our region from the Netherlands and Italy. Being evergreen, it retains its leaves in winter, continuing to function effectively as a hedge. It is especially notable for its red foliage on new shoots, which gradually turns green as the leaves mature. Suitable for planting in containers, Photinia is often used as an ornamental feature at building entrances or private homes. It is also commonly planted to decorate terraces and balconies. When planted in gardens, low-growing conifers or other small plants can be planted around the base. Photinia is an excellent choice for adding color and texture to any garden. Its red leaves create a dramatic visual effect that delights every observer.
